Welcome to the Community
At Two Bodies of Water Productions, we've been given an opportunity to make a living off the hard earned dollars of the struggling local music and arts community and we want to give back.
The Pay it Forward YEG Community Program
Donated in Studio Time -
$3,380 since June 01, 2011
Update Wednesday, January 01, 2012 @ 0017h
Deadline for Nominations is the 29th over each month.
Quick Summary
Two Bodies of Water Productions is accepting nominations for
community minded people who deserve recognition. We will be awarding 2 recipients each month with 5 hours (apporximately an evening's worth) of studio time. (conditions apply) Follow the link above to apply, or scroll down to learn more.
In Greater Detail
Partially inspired by a couple local bands and one local company, The Pay it Forward YEG Community Program wants to give to the local community. Two Bodies of Water Productions will donate at least 10% of everything we earn (that's gross revenue for those number crunchers) directly to the community in the form studio time (through our panel of independent local judges).
How the Process Works
It's pretty straight forward when you think about it. Someone nomiates their friend, neighbour, or whomever, who is doing something for the community. It could be shovelling the walks, helping someone cross the street, or organizing a fundraiser for their local community shelter, but its a selfless contribution to their community. At the end of every month, we gather up all the nominations and send them to our panel of judges to sift through and decide who is most deserving and we will award that individual or group with time at our studio.

The Why
In grade school, we're asked what we would choose to do if we had a million dollars. Asking that same quesion to us as adults, we would choose studios, creation, a life of music and the arts. We don't have a million dollars. We likely never will. However, we've found a way to live this life and we want to give back to a community that already believes in supporting their own. Sure there are lots of entertainment dollars to go around, and its a competitive market, but we shouldn't have to compete with our own. We should be helping each other.
The Fine Print?
By now, we're sure you're thinking "What's the Catch?" And you're right to question. Here's the catch... if you can even call it that.
1. This studio time is only valid at Two Bodies of Water Productions and is non transferable to another studio. We simply cannot pay for your recording at another studio. (remember that million dollars we don't have?)
2. If the studio time is not used within a reasonable period, it will be transfered to someone else who may be able to use it. (we can be flexible with this... communication is the key)
3. This program is valid beginning June 1, 2011, until someone says we can't do it anymore.
4. We will continue to sleep in our cars and on friends' couches to make sure this program lasts.
Interested in Being a Panel Member?
Do you have a love of the local arts and music communities? Do you feel like you want to help reward those who are giving to their communities? We would love to hear from you and perhaps get you involved in our submissions review process. We've kept it simple so there's as little time commitment as possible, 'cause we know everyone is already too busy doing so much. All you have to do is send us an email and let us know you're interested and we'll get the ball rolling.
